Could Oregon be next with the ABC sightings?

For years, and spanning over a few generations England had ABC scares often in line with or mimicking UFO scares across the country. What is an ABC? In typical Brit fashion ABC stands for Alien Big Cat, and the alien in the title has nothing to do with extraterrestrial but rather originating outside of the British Isles, or does it?

Of course the acronym leaves a variety of interpretations. How about anomalous big cat? Or anomalous black cat? The point is that there has been a variety of sightings and many of them were strange. I'll get into that in a minute. But the question now is, could Oregon be next on the list of strange cat sightings? The effect has already moved to Australia and New Zealand, could it be that the U.S. and specifically Oregon might be hiding a feline secret?

21 September 2006: Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller was on a search and rescue mission for two women who had disappeared into the Mount Jefferson Wilderness area. The two young women had called a family member and reported that they were lost in the area north of Three Fingered Jack. The family contacted the sheriffs office who mobilized a SAR team of twenty two members. They used GPS and cell phone coordinates to determine the location of the women and set off. Unfortunately the GPS coordinates proved to be incorrect and the team spent extra time looking for the women. During the mission a cougar appeared and advanced on the searchers. The team blew whistles and made noise to scare the creature off but it continued it's advance. The cougar got within feet of the search team when a sheriffs deputy was forced to pull his sidearm and fire shots at the cougars feet. The cougar then disappeared! Thankfully the search team found the women and returned them safely home after a medical evaluation.

This story recounts typical aspects of ABC encounters. In march of 2005 Anthony John Holder (37) of Sydenham Park in south London went down to his cellar when he heard his own pet cat screaming. "All of a sudden I see this big black thing pouncing at me, knocked me flying," he said. "It was growling at me and hissing and scratching." London Police advised people not to approach the cat if it is seen. Mr. Holder was treated for minor wounds and released. He said the cat was bigger than a Labrador and it took brute force to fight it off. The London RSPCA stated that Mr. Holder probably mistook his attacker as a large cat but it was a dog. I don't find that likely!

Australia has had such a problem with ABC's that they have had to create a special not for profit group made up of zoologists, cryptozoologists and concerned citizens to work on finding these beast's! http://australianbigcats.bravehost.com/

The common thread with these stories including the scores of tails coming out of England is that the ABC disappears without a trace, or if there are footprints they disappear after a few meters of tracking. Only two of these beasties have been captured or shot despite literally dozens of attacks and sightings. How in the world do you lose a large cat, larger than a Labrador in a London suburb? Especially when previous cats, who have escaped from the zoo or circus trailers were caught by RSPCA or Scotland Yard without incident?

In 1963 one David Black saw an ABC in south London, it was playing dead in the road until he examined it and determined it to be a large cat. It then shot up and disappeared into Oxleas wood. A few minutes later a large golden cat scurried across the hood of an idling police cruiser. This launched a search that involved 126 police men, 21 dogs, 30 soldiers, medics and all available RSPCA personnel. No cat was found but many searchers claimed to hear snarling sounds and growling from the trees above. Townsfolk reported sightings for weeks and then like so much strange phenomena it simply disappeared. The stories go on and on, ABC's have been caught on camera yet still not confirmed. I leave it to you to make up your mind.

My biggest concern with these stories is that they do not jive with what is known about feline psychology. Cats tend to attack the weakest of the herd. Rarely humans, and a predator certainly would not approach a group of armed men moving in formation. Nature photographers will tell you that great care must be taken when stalking a wild cat, not because they will attack you but because if you spook them at all they will run away and may never come back. Cats also don't just vanish without a trace, prints should continue and be track able, they shouldn't just terminate in the middle of open fields. Big cats leave behind big scat. If you own a house cat you know what I am talking about. We should be finding dens, scat, prints, carcasses of natural prey. These are evidences strangely lacking in the English and Australian cases.

This being said and with a few scattered reports in Oregon, one has to wonder. Where might this go for Oregon? Are these natural animals who have always been with us? Are they the lost pets and wild animals who failed domestication and now run loose in the countryside? Or is there something else going on? Have we created another mind monster? A projection from our deepest fears that finds a fleshy existence with the help of the nephillim? Have you seen an ABC, drop me a line and let me know.

What do you mean by "Silent Planet?"

I don't call this the Silent Planet because it is peaceful or lacking in noise, quite the contrary. This world is silent because the rest of the universe hasn't heard from us since human kind was usurped from our rightful birthright.

In C.S. Lewis space series Earth was known as "the Silent Planet" because the rest of the universe was populated with aliens who had never fallen into sin like mankind. The angels who watched over these multitudes of worlds all had one question on their minds. What is the news from the Silent Planet? It speaks to the fallen nature of this world, on how we exist on a planet of fire and glass like Philip K. Dick wrote in his VALIS trilogy. A world that is haunted like John Keel proclaimed. A world that is silent and cut off from the rest of creation.

We bang our heads against the wall wondering how a loving God can create a world of pain and death, yet doesn't our own history tell us that this is a world forged by our own decisions? We were given free will and we only serve gods or the one God if we choose too. Isn't death, suffering and discovery all wrapped up in the shroud of our own potential?

What do you think? Is this the Silent Planet?

Hello Silent Planet

All my life I have been a little bit different. All my life I have seen things I would rather forget. Not all the time, not every day or even every year but enough Now I have become fascinated by these things, problem is that my worldview says that this fascination is a direct highway to hell. I never asked for this and a part of me wonders. Isn't this natural? Isn't this the way it was originally? When the age of reason came and we threw the intellectual baby out with the bathwater in an attempt to cleave unto science and cast away religion did we close our eyes to the reality sitting just beyond our perception? Have we forgotten the legends of old and the ways of our forefathers to our own detriment?

I am afraid so. Because now when we see those things that slip in and out of our world we are so terrified that we hide behind mental health and science, we dogmatically proclaim that "this can not exist." What a leap of faith my friend!

Welcome to the Silent Planet, that's Earth. You are the true inhabitants. Don't you want to know what is going on here?
